Shah Rukh Khan ‘Don 3’ to be last in the Don franchise?
Even though Shah Rukh Khan commitment to the upcoming Rakesh Sharma biopic still remains uncertain, the makers of his upcoming film which will be the third installment to his popular ‘Don’ franchise are gearing up. According to reports, the Farhan Akhtardirectorial is titled as ‘Don: The Final Chapter’. The film is in its pre-production stage and will reportedly go on floors later this year. However, the title of the film might have struck a heavy chord with Shah Rukh Khan fans, who would probably see the end of his Don avatar.
Shah Rukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar have received a go-ahead for the third installment of the franchise. Farhan Akhtar had directed the previous two installments of the franchise. Reports also suggest that the film might roll by the mid of the year 2019. This will also be the first time in the franchise that Farhan Akhtar will reportedly make his appearance in the film, playing a cop.
Reports also suggest that the makers are looking for the female lead in the film, while most of the cast has been finalized. Priyanka Chopra starred in the first two films, however, she will not be reuniting with Shah Rukh Khan in this film, following which the chapter will see a lot of changes in the story line. According to reports, the makers of the film thought that it would be nice to give the franchise a great end, rather than dragging it. So they have come up with a great climax for the final film.
The franchise began with ‘Don: The Chase Begins which released in 2006. The sequel to the film ‘Don 2’ was released in 2011.
