World Franchise Council
The World Franchise Council (WFC) is an international organization that represents the interests of franchise associations and their members across the globe. With a mission to promote and protect the franchise business model worldwide, the WFC works to ensure the continued growth and success of the franchise industry.
Founded in 1994, the WFC is made up of over 45 franchise associations from around the world, International Franchise Association (IFA) withinside the United States, the European Franchise Federation (EFF), and the Asia-Pacific Franchise Confederation (APFC). Together, these associations represent more than 750,000 franchise businesses in over 100 countries.
The WFC is led by a Board of Directors composed of representatives from its member associations. The Board meets annually to discuss issues affecting the franchise industry, share best practices, and develop strategies to promote the growth and success of franchising around the world.
One of the key initiatives of the WFC is to promote the adoption of ethical standards and best practices within the franchise industry. The organization has developed a code of ethics that all members are expected to abide by, which includes guidelines on franchise disclosure, franchisee selection, and ongoing support for franchisees.
Another important function of the WFC is to provide a platform for the exchange of information and ideas among its members. The organization hosts an annual conference where representatives from member associations can meet and discuss issues affecting the franchise industry. The conference also provides an opportunity for members to network and share best practices.
In addition to its annual conference, the WFC also hosts a number of other events throughout the year, including webinars, workshops, and roundtable discussions. These events cover a wide range of topics relevant to the franchise industry, from legal and regulatory issues to marketing and branding strategies.
Overall, the World Franchise Council plays a critical role in promoting and protecting the franchise business model around the world. By bringing together franchise associations from different countries and regions, the organization helps to create a unified voice for the industry and ensures that the interests of franchisors and franchisees are represented on a global scale.
